Sustainable Coffee

Together, we can do our part to maintain a sustainable coffee ecosystem for our future generations.

Sourcing Ethically

Sourcing ethically is our priority in making your coffee experience sustainable. We only source for specialty and premium grade green coffee beans from reputable and reliable suppliers.

Our suppliers are dedicated experts in their field of work. They pay routine visits to coffee farms. During the visits, they assess the bean quality, as well as the working conditions of the farmers. Furthermore, they work closely with the farmers to harvest high quality beans, which can fetch better prices. This helps to improve the farmers’ lives. All these efforts form the crux to maintain a sustainable coffee ecosystem among farmers, traders and roasters.

As for us at Bean Rock Coffee, we are humbled to be able to play a role in this sustainable coffee ecosystem, through ethical sourcing.

Roasting Optimally

Roasting optimally is beneficial for both the environment and our health!

At Bean Rock Coffee, we roast your coffee beans on demand and grind to order. This is to ensure freshness and minimise wastage.

Because our coffee beans are of high quality, we are able to roast them lighter, to bring out the delicate and unique natural flavours. That means we do not add any artificial flavourings or additives. Our coffee is so good that you can just drink it on its own! No need for sugar or creamer.

Packing Minimally

Less is more.

Currently, we haven’t found a 100% recyclable valve bag that is durable and resistant in the operational environment, or gives assurance of quality. However, we are constantly working to understand the technologies, so that we can switch to a viable environment-friendly coffee bag in the near future.

To mitigate the impact of using a non-recyclable material, we take conscious steps to ensure that the design of our packaging is minimal, yet practical and informative. And of course, we highly encourage you to reuse the coffee bags whenever possible, or unleash your creativity to upcycle them!

In addition, we reduce delivery carbon footprint by minimising delivery pack sizes, using poly mailers instead of cardboard boxes as far as possible, and also downsizing where appropriate.

Enjoying Wisely

Helping coffee lovers to enjoy coffee wisely is at the heart of our sustainability effort. As such, we have designed a coffee subscription service, to help you plan the amount of coffee you will need at regular intervals. Rather than over-stocking your pantry, buying only what you need lets you enjoy your coffee at its peak flavour every time.

This in turn enables us to manage our resources efficiently, so that we can operate in a sustainable manner. And that’s a win-win situation!

About This Coffee

For 38 years, Fazenda Salto has been a labour of love for the Reis family.

Spanning 800 hectares, Dr. Fabio Reis and his sons combine tradition with innovation to create coffee that brings joy to every cup.

They’ve installed static drying boxes, built raised African beds, and mapped the farm for tailored processing.

Perfectly ripe cherries are dried on raised African beds for 28 days, achieving 11.35% moisture, then rested in wooden silos for 10 days. Their dedication ensures exceptional flavour in every sip!
